Faerie Fridays: Tales From The Road!

July 11, 2014 in blog posts, faerie fridays

Our faeries have already been swishing across the country as part of our 2014 tour! I shall now regale you with tales from the road. Starting next week, every Tuesday we will feature attic goats (that’s anecdotes, for those of us who don’t speak fluent autocorrect – yes, it’s true, us faeries use human technology!) of our wonderful gypsy lives.

In April, our team of faeries had the pleasure of running for the border. We appeared at the Poteet Strawberry Festival. We had a wonderful trip there except for having to fix a flat tire in Hope, Arkansas. The festival is in a small enough town that a festival with an attendance of over 100,000 every year is the biggest ticket in town, so the rest of the year, the fairgrounds are left alone. When I started to set up at my performance site, a small crowd gathered around me, all pointing up into the giant live oaks next to me. I looked up and saw that we were setting up under a nest of baby barn owls! The biggest owl was being very protective of the smaller ones, and the festival coordinators were concerned for their well-being, so they got up on a backhoe and installed protective fencing around the babies.
